Christmas Music

When it turns off cold, I get the Christmas music out. Here's my list of favored Christmas CDs:

Harry Connick Jr - When My Heart Finds Christmas
Steven Curtis Chapman - Christmas is All in the Heart
Wayne Watson - One Christmas Eve
Russ Taff - A Christmas Song
Handel Messiah - performed by the Atlanta Symphany Orchestra and Chamber Chorus
Midnight Clear - an all acoustic guitar collection, produced by John Darnall
Your King Has Come - a collection produced by Matt Smith of Detuned Records
Christmas Carols of the Young Messiah - produced by Norman Miller and Peter York
Vince Gill - Breath of Heaven
George Canyon - Home for Christmas

My favorite songs:
Contemporary - This Baby by Steven Curtis Chapman and Mary Did You Know sung by Michael English
Traditional - O Holy Night (especially when sung by my husband)
Non-Religious - The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)

I put on a Christmas CD at work yesterday and my co-worker teased me a bit. It was Vince Gill's "Let There Be Peace on Earth." I also have a Ricky Van Shelton Christmas CD here that I love. At home I have Steven Curtis Chapman's "The Music of Christmas" which is one of my very favorites, and also one from Trisha Yearwood. My favorite from my childhood is Andy Williams. Music really gets me in the Christmas spirit!

I love it too! I love old-timey songs from albums we had when I was little. Goodyear albums that were free when you got your tires. heehee I found the same ones at an antique mall and snatched them up! They were like new.

Good times.

OK, so I admit... I've been playing Christmas music at the office since the week before Halloween ;O)
I guess it's that I'm so used to being in choir and starting even earlier than that, and since I'm not in choir this year I was missing it more! One of my favorites is The Little Drummer Boy done by 4Him and I have a couple Christmas albums by Accapella that I dearly love. I have several albums from Bill Gaither and Homecoming Friends that are great because they have some of the traditional songs but also have some that are not well known and are different.

By the way, did you receive my ornaments? I'll talk/email when I get home early in the week and see what your schedule is like. Miss you!
